The MEG (Montreal Electronic Groove) virus is set to spread throughout Montreal from July 28-31, 2011. Our event has twice as many groups this summer and continues its mission to be the ultimate pioneer of urban music. Using a vast network of underground cultural spaces and larger venues, by way of your favourite clubs on the Plateau, MEG has expanded its programming to make you run around so you won’t miss out on anything. Put on your best running shoes, as you're sure to wear them out!

The MEG SHOWCASE pass is the star this year. For only $25, it gives you access to 4 nights, at least
6 venues and concerts by over 40 artists! This is the best way to get the complete experience of MEGMontreal’s musical discoveries! MEG will take over La Sala Rossa on Friday, July 29 for a concert by legendary MCs and hip hop producers, THE BEATNUTS (USA). The only Latino members of the Native Tongues collective founded by A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, THE BEATNUTS have worked with top American MCs and are behind many hip hop classics. They will be accompanied by SIDE C (MTL), UNDERGROUND REALROAD (MTL) and BOOMBAP CATS (MTL). This concert is co-produced with our partners, Good Friday Entertainment.

Le Lion d'Or will get in on the action with WATCHA CLAN (FR) on Friday, July 29, and AKIDO (MTL)
on Saturday, July 30 (co-produced with Northern Music Company). The eclectic Marseillais dubbers
will share the stage with RADIO BRUNO (MTL), FREEWORM (MTL), MAD'MOIZÈLE GIRAF (MTL)
and BAMBARAS (MTL).

Casa del Popolo will also serve as a rendezvous spot for new music addicts. On Thursday, July 28,
THE LEFT (Detroit, USA) will dish up a feast for the ears with their magnificent beats and loops.
Apollo Brown, considered one of the best hip hop producers in Detroit—a city rich in talent in this
area—will share the stage with sidekick Journalist 103 who has a crystal clear flow on the mic.
They’ll be accompanied by OG HINDU KUSH (MTL), FLIGHT DISTANCE (OTT) and ANGERVILLE (TO).
On Friday, July 29, check out a local showcase presented by MEG and Turbo Productions: SOLIDS
(MTL), THE DAWN SOBER (MTL) and TECHNICAL KIDMAN (MTL) blend punk and electro, promising
an evening with amazing kinetic potential. Hip hop returns on Saturday, July 30, with a solid lineup
showcasing the incredible BROWN BAG ALLSTARS (NY), DJ BRACE (MTL), DSHADE (MTL), BLURUM13 (Baltimore, USA) and ANNAKIN SLAYD (MTL). GRINDHOUSE (MTL) and METAZON (MTL) will close out the marathon on Sunday, July 31! The entire MEG hip hop lineup is proudly co-produced
with Good Friday Entertainment! ED.13 C FROM JULY 28th TO 31st.

MEG will also take you to Salon Officiel! On Thursday night, WE ARE WOLVES (MTL), DYNAMITE(MTL) and VINNIE AND ORTIZ (MTL) will get you on your feet. On Friday, BLACK TIGER SEX MACHINE (MTL) will rule your hips. On Saturday, DAVID RANCOURT (MTL) and GRANDOM (MTL) will control the rest of your body. On Sunday, MIKEY HEPPNER (MTL), FER (MTL) and LUCI (MTL) will provide all the rock'n'roll energy you’ll need to finish the festival! We’re pleased to announce the return of the MEG showcase format at Divan Orange, with the following lineup: Thursday, July 28, an electro pop trio with BOOGERS (FR), PROPOFOL (QC) and GIRL (QC); Friday, July 29, disco house music with BEAT MARKET (QC), CAYCE (QC) and SECRET MAKER (FR); Saturday, July 30, French touch'n'roll with TAMBOUR BATTANT (FR) and JIMMY TARGET AND THE TRIGGERS (QC).

This year, Quai des Brumes will make its debut as a MEG venue! On Thursday, July 28, ONOMATOPS(MTL), NANS & NAT (MTL) and BRUSQUE TWINS (MTL) will make you smile and gasp. On Friday, July 29, GOLD ZEBRA (QC) and THE EASTON ELLISES (QC) will each have their chance to blow the sound system. EZLV (QC), SECRET MAKER (FR) and BRANDON BALEK (QC) will host the dance floor on Saturday, July 30. On Sunday, July 31, BAD UNCLE (MTL) and PAT THE BRAT (MTL) will close the program with a classic evening of gypsy punk, Quai des Brumes style!
