PARC
JEAN DRAPEAU
Formerly, this island
served as a fishing site for the Iroquois, accommodated the British
navy during the 1700s, was host of “Expo 67”, and more recently,
welcomed the aquatic games of 2005….FINA. Parc Jean Drapeau is
easily accessible by metro, ferry, bike path, and car. The park offers
one of the most spectacular views of Montreal, the Old Port, and the
St. Lawrence River. In addition, it is truly a wonderful outdoor site,
home to several works of art and architecture such as “Model of
Man” by Alexander Calder, Buckminster Fuller’s Geodesic
Dome, and “Puerta de la Amistad” by Sebastian. |
